Jeffrey Gary, Ph.D.
Clinical Director
First Step

Jeffrey Gary has worked for over 40 years, treating children, adolescents and adults with substance use and mental health disorders in inpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient settings.  He is currently the Clinical Director of First Step, a community based behavioral health program in Maryland.

A licensed psychologist, Dr. Gary is certified by the Board of Governors’ of the American Psychological Association College of Professional Psychology in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders.  He has presented workshops nationally on topics in the areas of evidence based practices, substance use and mental health treatment, employee assistance programming and organizational development.  

Lex Remillard, MSW, LCSW
Director of Clinical Services
Clarity Way

Lex obtained his Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Southern California and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).  He has vast experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings and his specialty is treating individuals and families suffering from addiction. 

By treating all individuals with respect and empathy and meeting them where they are in their recovery process, Lex is able to help those in need make progress.

His role as Director of Clinical Services provides him interaction with all of our clients throughout their time in treatment, to ensure that their clinical needs are being met.  His background in the clinical field allows for his experienced oversight of the full range of clinical services at Clarity Way, elevating the standard of care in addiction treatment.

Margaret Nagib, PsyD
Faculty Member
Timberline Knolls Clinical Development Institute

Dr. Nagib is a clinical psychologist specializing in inner healing and treating addiction, eating disorders, trauma, self-injury and mood disorders. For 15 years, she has provided individual, family and group therapy.

Today, as a key faculty member of Timberline Knolls’ Clinical Development Institute, she travels throughout the country providing clinical training and presentations to professionals. Every year, the CDI team offers more than 50 presentations at national and regional meetings, and contributes to awareness and early intervention through media interviews and blog contributions. Formerly, Dr. Nagib worked as a counselor with The Meier Clinics, the Northern Illinois University Counseling Center, the Glen Oaks Adolescent Therapeutic School and Oak Forest Psychological Services.  She has been featured in Relevant magazine; the Wall Street Journal; Today’s Christian Woman magazine; FOX News, and more. 

Dr. Nagib earned her undergraduate degree from Pace University in New York and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College in Illinois, where she also served as an adjunct graduate psychology professor. She held a similar role at Simpson University in California.

Douglas J. Edwards, MBA
Publisher of Addiction Professional

Douglas J. Edwards is Publisher of Addiction Professional, having formerly served as editor in chief of Behavioral Healthcare and Addiction Professional.  Edwards has been serving the addiction treatment community since 2000 in multiple editorial and marketing roles.  Edwards will serve as moderator of the discussion.
