Nationally prominent addiction treatment and recovery advocate Tom Hill has been named vice president of addictions and recovery at the National Council for Behavioral Health.

As director of programs at Faces & Voices of Recovery, Hill “gave hope and voice to those affected by addictions, helping to create a movement that changed the public conversation on recovery,” reads an announcement from the National Council.

Hill, who is in long-term recovery, also formerly served as acting director of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA's) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT).
