RiverMend Health's Georgia Detox & Recovery Centers this month announced the launch of a specialized program for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) patients at its Atlanta location. Georgia Detox & Recovery Centers offers detox, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services and specializes in treating addictions, dual disorders and pain.

The new program adds a daily curriculum addressing the needs of the LGBT population, which has higher substance use rates than the general population and often faces greater hurdles to recovery, to its substance use programming. Some of the topics that will be addressed include family relationships, the process of working through rejection and discrimination, and the ability to find strength in one's identity as an LGBT person in recovery.

“When a patient perceives a healthcare environment to be safe and supportive, the patient is more likely to have a quicker path to recovery,” Tina Black, Georgia Detox & Recovery Centers' vice president of operations, said in a June 24 news release.

I could not find anything on their website as to what specialized services for LGBT individuals are being offered?
