The Recovery Place, Inc., an alcohol and drug rehab treatment facility in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., has announced that Edmund Bujalski has joined the senior management team as director of corporate development. Bujalski will work with the organization's CEO John Cates to create a healthcare organization that is national in scope.

“Edmund brings a wealth of experience to the company,” said Cates. “He’s built companies in the healthcare services field for the past 30 years, and was CEO of a company that owned and managed psychiatric hospitals and substance abuse treatment centers. He brings skill sets and insights that strongly complement the talents of our management team.”

Bujalski said he was attracted to The Recovery Place by the passion of its employees and their commitment to delivering the highest quality of care to clients. "John Cates’ personal story is a remarkable one, and his passion and drive are extraordinary," he said. "His caring for his clients is exceptional. I don’t know any other treatment center CEO who still does groups with his clients. I share his vision for the company and consider it a privilege to work with John and his team.”

Bujalski is a graduate of Harvard College and has an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He co-founded Hospital Group of America in 1983, went on be CEO of an ambulance company, co-founded LifeMetrix, which owned the largest cancer disease management company in the United States when it was sold to Matria Healthcare, and was CEO of a group of outpatient surgery centers specializing in weight loss surgery procedures.

“Edmund not only has an impressive resume of business accomplishments, but like everyone else at The Recovery Place, he appreciates what we’re doing clinically," Cates added. "Putting the well being of clients ahead of business considerations informs his thinking, making him an excellent fit for our organization."
