Russell Rainey, formerly the clinical director of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services' men's treatment program, has been named program director of the treatment organization's Legacy program for adults ages 60 and older.

The Hattiesburg, Miss.-based Pine Grove announced Rainey's move from the Next Step program for men to Legacy this week. Rainey, a licensed professional counselor, said in a news release, "With the growing number of older adults struggling with substance use disorders, the need for quality treatment is definitely great."

Pine Grove established Legacy in 2012 based in part on research findings that indicated an association between age-specific addiction treatment programs and improved outcomes.
