Arlean (AJ) and Bernie Truax have announced the opening of AJ's Amethyst House, an inpatient addiction treatment center for women in San Jacinto, Calif., that they say will focus on identifying the source of women's addictions and on promoting holistic healing.

The center's recovery program will meld a 12-Step foundation with yoga, personal reflection journaling and other recovery-focused activities, according to a Feb. 25 news release. The entire staff is comprised of recovering addicts, and co-founder AJ Truax has been in recovery for more than 27 years.

“Our goal is to help women overcome their addictions through treating the whole woman and the root causes of their dependencies,” said AJ's Amethyst House program director Quinlan Strong. PsyD.

Leaders are marketing the facility as an affordable treatment option and say they will accept most major insurance plans.
