At an annual black tie gala in Atlanta on June 6, Ernst & Young LLP announced Michael Cartwright as the winner of its Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 Award in the category of Healthcare and Life Sciences for the Southeast region. Cartwright was chosen among 31 Southeastern finalists. This award recognizes Cartwright’s demonstrated excellence and success in innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to his community and to his organization, American Addiction Centers (Brentwood, Tenn.).
“I could not be more humbled to be part of such an amazing group of nominees. It's wonderful for business leaders to have this opportunity to come together and celebrate ideas - it's what truly drives ingenuity and forward-thinking in this country,” Cartwright said.
Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year recognizes the significant contributions of entrepreneurs who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement. The finalists were comprised of business leaders selected by a panel of independent judges. The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 Award in the Southeast included Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
"I'd like to thank my business partner Jerrod Menz, my exceptional team and my board members," Cartwright adds. "Together, we continue the mission of American Addiction Centers, and saving the lives of those in need.”
