Sierra Tucson has hired Aaron Wilson, MD, formerly medical director of Valley Hospital in Phoenix, as its chief medical officer. Wilson's work in Arizona's behavioral health community has included current stints as president of the Arizona Psychiatric Society and chairman of the Arizona Disaster Psychiatry Task Force.

Wilson also has served as medical director of the Freedom Care Unit, a program focusing on the mental health needs of military service members and first responders.

Sierra Tucson also announced this month that Dianne Keller, MD, has been promoted to associate medical director and Shannon Padilla has been promoted to co-direct the Desert Flower Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit.

Addiction professionals annually convene at the National Conference on Addiction Disorders to share what’s working: Clinicians hear from thought leaders on delivering treatment, while executives of behavioral healthcare organizations learn how to run more effective, more efficient, and ethically minded businesses.
