The Cumberland Heights addiction treatment facility in Tennessee is delivering its own August back-to-school message—highlighting the addiction and recovery challenges that mothers face as family schedules go back into overdrive.

The treatment organization on Aug. 14 launched the second in its series of YouTube videos designed as a community education and soft marketing tool to erase misconceptions about the treatment experience. The first video in the professionally shot series, released earlier this summer, exposed viewers to facts about the medical detox process.

The new video, titled “Women in Rehab: A Courageous Choice,” discusses the conflict many women experience when they sense the need for help but feel they must maintain their role as caretaker of the family home.

“Not only is the physiology of addiction different for women, so are the social challenges regarding treatment,” Cumberland Heights women's program director Melissa Hudgens said in a news release. “Our goal with this segment of the YouTube series is to let women know they have support and treatment options.”
