Alison Knopf, editor of the national newsletter Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Weekly and a contributing writer for Addiction Professional, is the 2016 recipient of the Michael Q. Ford Journalism Award from the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP). Knopf will receive the award May 17 at NAATP's annual conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Knopf's reporting for Addiction Professional has addressed some of the most pressing—and vexing—issues facing the substance use treatment field, from organizational ethics to the future of residential treatment. Her 2014 article on sexual misconduct in the counseling profession was honored with a 2015 Silver Award for Best Feature Article from the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors (ASHPE).
