Indianapolis nonprofit addiction treatment center Fairbanks has announced the appointment of hospital executive Kent L. Brown as president and CEO. Brown, who begins work at the 70-year-old organization this week, is the former chief operating officer of Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio.
Brown also is the former CEO of Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, Ore., a facility that under his direction achieved numerous Healthgrades Quality Awards that included the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence. Fairbanks board chairman Faraz Abbasi sees Brown as being able to guide Fairbanks toward expansion goals. Forging partnerships with other organizations in the community also will be a priority.
Former Fairbanks president and CEO Mark Monson resigned from the position last year, after which vice president and chief financial officer Barbara Elliott was named interim president and CEO.
