Elements Behavioral Health, owner of an increasingly prominent network of substance abuse, process addictions, trauma and mental health treatment facilities that include Promises Treatment Centers, The Ranch and The Sexual Recovery Institute, this week expanded its holdings further by announcing its acquisition of Journey Healing Centers facilities in Scottsdale, Ariz., and Salt Lake City, Utah.

Journey Healing Centers, founded by Joshua and Lisa Lannon in 2002, encompasses The Retreat and The Sundance Center in Scottsdale and Journey Utah, Creekside, and Sober Living in Salt Lake City. In a recent interview with Addiction Professional, Lisa Lannon discussed challenges involved in diversifying the company’s revenue base to incorporate more insurance payment.

Journey has emphasized the establishment of a full continuum of care and the development of competencies to treat co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders in recent years.

Elements recently engaged in a rebranding effort for one of its existing facilities by renaming its Spirit Lodge facility in Texas as Promises Austin. Elements has embarked on an aggressive expansion strategy in recent years as it promotes its clinical approach of addressing root causes of behavioral illness by prioritizing services in areas such as trauma.
