Patricia Castillo joined Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) this month as director of its National Coalition Institute, an entity designed to improve the capacity of the community-based anti-drug coalitions operating across the country. Castillo most recently served as director of the Influence the Choice—Drug Prevention Alliance for Youth coalition in Washington.

Castillo has 20 years of experience in substance use prevention and formerly served as vice president of the United Way of Broward County, Fla.'s Commission on Substance Abuse.

The National Coalition Institute was established in 2001 as part of the reauthorization of the federal Drug-Free Communities Act, and serves as a training, technical assistance and evaluation organization.
