On each day during Recovery Month in September, the Addiction Policy Forum and Faces & Voices of Recovery are featuring a story of a person in recovery in their Everyday Recovery campaign. While personal profiles are a common feature of campaigns of this type, these organizations also are showcasing innovative recovery support initiatives developed at the local level.
“This campaign carries the message of hope in a very public way—one that will eliminate negative attittudes toward addiction and recovery,” Faces & Voices executive director Patty McCarthy Metcalf said in a Sept. 14 news release.
Everyday Recovery has a website, and individuals can follow the campaign via a number of online and social media vehicles. The Addiction Policy Forum is made up of organizations and policy leaders seeking a comprehensive response to addiction problems.
