TPAS, Treatment Professionals in Alumni Services, is holding its 2nd Annual Collaborative in Houston, Texas, September 15-18, 2013
TPAS provides a forum for collaboration, innovation, the exchange of exemplary practices and professional development for those who provide Alumni, Recovery Support and Continuing Care services. This annual meeting is an opportunity for professionals who provide these services to come together in a unique, collaborative learning environment.
The TPAS Collaborative is unlike any other industry conference you may have attended. There is no trade show; no speakers with power-point presentations. Instead, you will meet in small groups for in-depth discussions of topics relevant to the work that you do. You'll have a chance to talk directly to the professionals who are doing the work that can help you build your program. You'll also have a chance to share your expertise, your successes and your challenges. The TPAS Collaborative is an opportunity for you to be both a teacher and a learner.
Attendees at last year's Collaborative described this as "the best event they ever attended" and an "opportunity for both personal and professional growth". Participants left with ideas that they put into practice immediately. Moreover, many who attended stayed in touch over the past year to continue to support one another and share ideas.
TPAS is proud to have the endorsement of William White, noted researcher, consultant and recovery adovcate:
"I believe that alumni services will emerge in the coming years as a major vehicle for post-treatment recovery support and recovery-related policy advocacy. I expect the Second TPAS Collaborative will move this vision closer to fruition. My very best wishes to all of you who will be involved." William L. White, Author, Slaying the Dragon: The History of Addiction Treatment and Recovery in America
Take advantage of early bird registration for the TPAS Collaborative before August 23, 2013.
