New Beginnings Recovery Center, a teen residential treatment program (Opelousas, Louisiana) has been named the winner of the 2013 James W. West M.D. Quality Improvement Award.
The award was presented May 20 at an awards luncheon at the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) Annual Conference. Johnny Patout, CEO of New Beginnings Recovery Center, was present at the conference to accept the honor.
"It is an incredible honor to be named a recipient of an award previously received by highly regarded treatment facilities like the Betty Ford Center," said Patout. "It is my hope that this recognition will help further cement our reputation as a leader in teen drug treatment."
Established in 2001, the James W. West M.D. Quality Improvement Award recognizes addiction treatment organizations in the association that are improving their services and documenting the results along the way. The award is named for James W. West, a longtime quality-improvement advocate who is medical director emeritus at the Betty Ford Center.
