The newly formed Summit Behavioral Healthcare has now grown to three treatment facilities in all, with the Aug. 8 announcement from the addiction treatment and behavioral health company that it has acquired Victory Addiction Recovery Center in Lafayette, La.

Founded just over a year ago subsequent to its acquisition of Valley Recovery Center of California, Summit now has acquired two facilities and established one other (Great Oaks Recovery Center in the Houston area). Victory Addiction Recovery Center is a freestanding residential treatment facility for adults; it also offers intensive outpatient services and it features a Victory Community Forum series of guest speakers.

“This acquisition is particularly exciting for Summit as we have extensive experience in the Lafayette market through prior leadership and facility ownership roles,” Summit chief operating officer Jeff Barnett said in a news release.

Summit recently tapped into the national advocacy community to hire former professional basketball player Chris Herren as part of its executive and business development team.
