Washington, D.C. — The National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare (National Council) announces Aaron Williams as Director of Training and Technical Assistance/Substance Abuse for the SAMHSA-HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions (CIHS). Williams will support CIHS initiatives promoting the integration of substance abuse treatment and primary care.

“We are pleased to have Aaron Williams join CIHS at the National Council. His background in behavioral health services — particularly substance abuse treatment, workforce development and the implementation of evidence-based practices—will prove invaluable to CIHS efforts to ensure seamless services for individuals with behavioral health disorders no matter where they present for care,” said Linda Rosenberg, President and CEO of the National Council.

Prior to joining the National Council, Williams served as the Associate Director of Research and Information for the Danya Institute and the Central East Addiction Technology Transfer Center where he was responsible for the dissemination of research related to the improvement of practice.

Williams has more than 10 years of behavioral healthcare experience, has written and contributed to numerous articles and worked on substance abuse treatment and prevention related grants and contracts including work on a U.S State Department-funded grant to evaluate substance abuse treatment programs in other countries.
