Edward J. Bilotti, M.D. has been named the medical director of the Mercy Recovery Center, a substance abuse treatment center in Maine. Located in Westbrook, Mercy Recovery Center is part of the Mercy Health System of Maine, a provider of comprehensive healthcare services. Bilotti is a board-certified psychiatrist and a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.

“Dr. Bilotti brings clinical and leadership experience from Maine and New Jersey, serving as both a practicing psychiatrist and as a medical director. We are honored to have him join our team of clinically excellent providers,” said Eileen Skinner, President of Mercy Health System of Maine.

The team at Mercy Recovery Center provides both inpatient and outpatient services including detoxification, group therapy, treatment of withdrawal symptoms, and long-term therapies designed to reduce the chance of relapse and help patients through transition to recovery.

“The growing rate of addiction is alarming and something that simply cannot be ignored. My role with the Mercy Recovery Center will be to continue to provide patients with effective treatment combined with the highest level of compassion,” said Bilotti, who brings more than 15 years of experience to Mercy. “Coordinating comprehensive care through a multi-disciplined approach is vital and with Mercy’s experienced team we can make a difference changing lives and putting patients on the road to recovery.”

Bilotti most recently served as the medical director for another Maine dual-diagnosis outpatient program. Prior to that, he was the medical director of Aroga Behavioral Health in New Jersey, a multi-site, group dual-diagnosis practice that he founded in 1999.
