Los Angeles — Pursuant of its recent purchase of Los Angeles-based Sexual Recovery Institute, and the launch of The Center For Sexual Recovery at The Ranch, Elements Behavioral Health, which owns and operates Promises Treatment Centers (Los Angeles and Malibu), The Ranch (Nunnelly, Tenn.) and the Sexual Recovery Institute (Los Angeles), will continue to expand its leadership within the sexual addiction and hypersexual disorders realm through key industry sponsorships and partnerships. To that end, the company has announced a recent sponsorship agreement with theInternational Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), in which Elements will support primary market trainings (Chicago, Los Angeles) for therapists to receive their official sexual addiction treatment certification: CSAT. The Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) designation is the culmination of the field’s most notable pioneer, Patrick Carnes Ph.D., who designed the training program based on academic study, experiential training, supervision, and testing competence.

CSAT is offered only by IITAP, and is designed to provide formal training and knowledge in the task-centered approach for the treatment of sexual addiction and sexual compulsivity.

“Having worked with Dr. Carnes for the past 20 years, I am extremely excited for this opportunity to join him again for this series of trainings,” remarked Robert Weiss, LCSW, CSAT-S, who founded the Sexual Recovery Institute, is also a certified sex addiction therapist trainer and considered a leading expert in the field, particularly in the emerging area of ‘sex addiction and intimacy in the digital age.’

“With our emergent interest in sexual addiction programming, our involvement with IITAP is a natural fit, and we look forward to supporting the great work of Dr. Carnes and his organization,” remarked Dr. David Sack, CEO of Elements Behavioral Health.

Elements-sponsored trainings will be facilitated by Dr. Carnes, and Ken Adams, PhD, and will provide attendees with thirty CEUs toward their full CSAT certification.
