Capitol Care South adds addiction services

Capitol Care South, a behavioral health care provider, has added addiction services to their Birmingham facility that provides psychiatric and behavioral programs for adults and children.

Capitol Care South’s addiction services are designed for the adult client who is in need of alcohol and substance abuse treatment. Treatment includes, but is not limited to individual and group therapies, interactive discussions, and activities. The program is highly structured and relies on evidence based practices.

“Capitol Care South is excited over the Addiction Services expansion as it will allow us to address the growing need for such services in the Birmingham Area, ” said Tina Cooke, chief executive officer.

Certified by the Alabama Department of Mental Health, Capitol Care South is on forefront of a national trend toward a more holistic approach to wellness by offering combined services for those with co-occurring mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

Services at Capitol Care South include a partial hospitalization program, intensive day treatment, rehabilitative day treatment, outpatient services and case management. They practice treatment methods proven effective by medical, clinical and academic research.
