The Betty Ford Center will open an outpatient addiction treatment clinic in West Los Angeles in early February, moving toward fulfilling a key service expansion goal that drove its merger with Hazelden in 2014.

Mark Mishek, president and CEO of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, said in a Jan. 13 news release that “health care reform is opening the doors to addiction treatment for many more people, primarily through outpatient care.” He added that “this new clinic is a key part of our organization's strategy to expand outpatient services in California and nationally.”

A ribbon-cutting and open house will be held at the clinic's Santa Monica Blvd. location on Jan. 28. Renowned actor Louis Gossett, Jr., and Los Angeles City Council member Paul Koretz will appear at the event.
