The 2013 NCAD event will be our fourth annual event. The conference has rapidly established itself as a premier, respected, and trusted national conference that provides a diverse educational curriculum on the prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery management of addictions that affect various genders, generations, and cultures.

Nationally recognized treatment providers, authors, and educators will discuss a wide range of topics in a compelling array of keynote sessions and in-depth workshops. The educational tracks for this year’s NCAD are:

In addition to receiving the expert and timely educational content delivered in more than 50 educational sessions and workshops, attendees will have ample opportunity to connect and engage with the industry’s most respected practitioners and resources in the NCAD exhibit hall.

ANNOUNCING A NEW PARTNERSHIP

We are pleased to announce a new partnership for the development of the 2013 conference with the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC), and we remain proud of the continuing support from the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP); the National Association of Lesbian, Gay, Transgender Addiction Professionals (NALGAP); the Treatment Professionals in Alumni Services (TPAS); the National Association of Recovery Residences (NARR); and the Women Association in  Addiction Treatment (WAAT).

PRE-CONFERENCE FACILITY TOURS AND WORKSHOPS:

On Saturday, September 21st, NCAD will offer a number of pre-conference workshopsand an opportunity to tour local treatment centersin the area (transportation provided by NCAD).

Who Should Attend:

Addiction treatment counselors, social workers, therapists, physicians, nurses, and interventionists as well as the executive leadership of addiction treatment centers, behavioral healthcare organizations, and community mental health centers. 

Conference Objectives:

Participants will be able to:
  1. Identify treatment approaches and develop counseling skills for a range of issues in addictions and co-occurring disorders;
  2. Reference advances in the addiction field resulting from research, case studies, and documented innovations;
  3. Identify and discuss treatment considerations relating to certain cultural, age-specific, gender, sexual orientation issues; and  
  4. Recognize the stages of development in both counselor and supervisor and the implications for effective training of counselors.
