Jan. 8 is the submission deadline for presenters who wish to be part of the first National Conference on Addiction Disorders (NCAD), to be held next Sept. 8-11 in Arlington, Virginia. Prevention and treatment, facility design, technology trends and solutions, and business operations are among the areas to be covered in a wide-ranging curriculum expected to attract a diversity of addiction-focused individuals and organizations. NCAD is an unprecedented joint effort of several groups in the field, including NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals and the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP). Vendome Group, publisher of Addiction Professional and Behavioral Healthcare magazines, is the coordinating sponsor of the conference, which also involves partnering organizations the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), the American Society of Interior Designers (ASIP) and the Software and Technology Vendors' Association (SATVA). Along with several educational tracks, the conference will feature an advocacy track that will offer participants the opportunity for face-to-face communication with lawmakers. For more information about presentation opportunities ranging from one-hour to full-day sessions, contact Julie-Lynn Belon at (603) 836-0327 orjbelon@vendomegrp.com or visit www.ncad10.com.
